Last night, two men alighted from a commercial tricyle in front of Mamman’s house and fired at him at close range, on the chest, stomach and back. And they bolted away.
Mamman’s son, Garba Inuwa, who witnessed the assassination said he was with his father when the assassins came to their home at about 7 p.m at Kumbiya Quarters in Gombe town on Monday.
The Nigerian Police in Gombe State on Tuesday confirmed the killing of Mamman
The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), DSP Fwaje Atajiri, told newsmen that the incident was being investigated and appealed to the public to provide the police with useful information that could lead to the arrest of the assassins.
The PPRO said the police in Gombe were doing all they could to unravel the mystery behind the killing.
Atajiri also appealed to the public to remain calm as the police were committed to the security of lives and property in the state.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reported that the Adamu Maman has been buried, according to Islamic rites.
