A 33-year-old mechanic, Yemi Oyeniyi, has abandoned his wife, Esther, after a scan result showed that she was carrying set of triplets.
Investigation revealed that the couple had been blessed with two children before the delivery of the triplets, who were all female, on October 29.
Mrs Oyeniyi, 27-year-old teacher, told the Nigerian Tribune on her hospital bed at the State Hospital, Ijaye, Abeokuta, that her husband left their matrimonial home on June 3, when he was informed about the scan result.
She said the sudden disappearance of her husband forced her to relocate to the Cherubim and Seraphim Church at Oke-Yidi area of Abeokuta.
She stated further that her husband mobile line had since been switched off, while his whereabouts remained unknown.
Mrs Oyeniyi said a member of her husband’s family, who resides in Iganna town of Oyo State, had also failed to show up since the delivery of the baby last week Monday. (Tribune)
She said the church organised the naming ceremony of the babies and appealed to her husband to return home and care for the children.
