My Husband Takes Good Care Of Me But I Don’t Love Him Anymore – Divorce Seeking Wife Tells Court

A woman identified Aishatu Mohammed today prayed a Sharia Court in Minna for the dissolution of her marriage, saying she has fallen out of love with her husband.

Mohammed told the court that she no longer adores her husband, Tanimu, whom she has been married to for 10 years without a child.

“My husband feeds and takes good care of me and does every other thing expected of a man but I don’t love him anymore.

“And that is why I am asking this honorable court to dissolve our marriage. Tanimu, however, said he still loved his wife and wouldn’t want them to go their separate ways.

He prayed the court to give him some time to try and prevail on his wife to change her stance.

The presiding judge, Ahmed Bima, advised the couple to patch things up, adding that marriage required patience and understanding.

Bima adjourned the matter untill April 29 for report of settlement

  1. The reason is not far fetch . She has already stated her reason which has nothing to do with love but what every marriage; at least majority crave for in the institution of marriage.

  2. There must be something they are both hiding. Why would you divorce him if he takes very good care of you and loves you dearly? Is it because of the childlessness? or have you found a new love? Mr. Tanimu if a woman tells you she has fallen out of love with you, she has made up her mind. Don’t beg her to stay. Let her change her mind on her own volition. If you prevail on her there is every possibility she will cheat. If the reason why she is leaving is because of childlessness, have you both considered visiting the doctor for solution or has she been telling you that both of you visit a doctor and you have been dodging? Try to find out why she fell out of love with you.

  3. If that’s what she want, why not grant her. You can only force a horse to the stream but can’t force to drink water.

  4. In any marriage or relationship where there is no love, it’s advised that it’s been desolve.
The fact is that her mind is no longer in the marriage, forcing her or begging her to stay will cause harm to the marriage.
