A 39-year-old housewife has been arrested in Osogbo in connection with the murder of her husband.

Mrs Tayo Salawudeen was arrested by police over the weekend for allegedly hiring a hit man to kill her hubby, 43-year-old Hakeem Salawudeen after he took another wife.

While speaking with journalists today, Osun State Police Commissioner Adeoye Olafimihan said Tayo paid the hired assassin 10,000 Naira as against the N300,000 the assassin, Oladapo Dolapo initially demanded.

On the day Hakeem was murdered at the couple’s home on Adeniran Street in Hallelujah Estate Osogbo, the killer wife hid Oladapo inside a room in their apartment and when her husband returned home, he signaled to him and immediately Mrs Tayo Salawudeen used pillow to cover her husband’s mouth, the assassin stabbed him to death on the chest.

To cover up the murder, Oladapo, an ex-convict wrote “NO PRICE NO PAY”, “AXE AYE” “FORGIVENESS IS A SIN” inscriptions on the wall and the door under the guise that the deceased was murdered by Blackaxe cultists.

After Oladapo had left, the killer wife raised an alarmed that her husband has been murdered by cultists.

Police were called in to the scene and after investigation, Mrs Tayo and her accomplice were picked up by police.

They are currently being investigated at the Command Headquarter in Osogbo.
