Nigeria In Trouble As Islamists Fulani Herdsmen Join Forces With Boko Haram Jihadists
WHAT A PEOPLE, WHAT A COUNTRY By Albert Afeso Akanbi
A little over 3 years ago, the government of President Jonathan announced that Nigeria had overtaken South Africa as the largest economy in Africa. Nigerians received the news with mixed reactions…
Then came the 2015 elections, then entered Mr Buhari…
Suddenly prices of commodities went skywards, the naira quickly crashed against the dollar, petrol quickly began to sell at over 200 in some places, so much so that the last Christmas became the worst in living memory of Nigerians, many of whom had to sleep at filling stations while many more paid three times the usual transport fare to travel home and so on…
If that was all there is to Mr Buhari’s government it would have been fine… No, it wasn’t.
Then the security of lives and properties of Nigerians quickly became a mirage as Islamists Fulani herdsmen quickly joined forces with jihadist Boko Haram…
What was the result of this partnership? Blood, blood and more blood…
Today we have a government whose body language suggests it has set the ground for the killing of innocent people… Hardly a day goes by that we don’t wake up to news of carnage, and the usual response of Nigerians to such news these days is, “how many dead?”
What a people, what a country…
There has been reports that the number of deaths since Buhari took power is more than what is obtained in Syria where there is currently an ongoing civil war!
Bishop Oyedepo of Living Faith Church noted that although we are not at war, we have been organising mass burials…
As if that was not enough, there has been reports that this president gave the order to recruit “repentant” ex-Boko Haram members into the Nigerian army!
Recently, some Christian leaders told us the Nigerian police included Arabic in the police recruitment exams in other to keep people of other faiths, especially Christians, away from joining the police since they would apparently fail the exams…
Mr Femi Fani-Kayode has been druming, since this government came into office, into our ears, that there is a dangerous Islamic agenda, which is the reason Mr Buhari sought power four times, got it eventually, and was now the arrow head for furthering that agenda…
Then on Saturday in Plateau state, over 120 people were massacred in cold blood in a manner that has left bulgding eyes and dropping jaws…
Then came reports of some fellow who claim to represent a group that calls itself “Miyetti Allah” (Warriors of Allah) coming forward to announce that Saturday’s carnage was revenge for over 300 cows killed by the youths of Plateau State…
Mr Buhari yesterday blamed the massacre on desperate politicians…
As we speak, the police as usual, have deployed troops, declared cufeew just as the Air Force is sending helicopters, all of these off course long after the deaths have occurred…
After a short while, all these paparazzi would disappear, and then we will go back to our usual routine of dangerous politicking, endless talking and tribalism…until another massacre…only God knows where and when this time…
If we were not a people without conscience , if we were not under a government that is clearly satanic, if we were a serious country and not one with a chronic case of collective dementia, over 120 people dead in one day? I swear by now the whole country would have been shut down, all activities would have grounded to a halt… Civil liberty organisations, labour unions, religious bodies, university students, market women, etc would have mobilized and poured into the streets in protest to demand a solution to these endless killings or better yet insist that the “desperate politicians” that Mr Buhari spoke about be named and brought to justice… even the Super Eagles would boycut the upcoming match in protest…
But not Nigeria…not Nigeria where people can go on the streets of Kano in protest because one atheist in Denmark drew cartoons if one “prophet” even though their citizens were being killed in their hundreds daily by Boko Haram…nit Nigeria because we will carry on as if all is well leaving those affected and the victims of Plateau massacre to leak their wounds…and then that unreasonable Islamic group that calls itself MURIC under the lunatic that calls himself professor Ishaq won’t say a word now, but if it were to be for him to spew trash because of a confused girl that was not allowed to wear hijab, you would see him in the forefront yelling like someone bitten by a mad dog…
Demetia, lukewarmness and heartlessness would kill us before Mr Buhari’s perverted leadership and their Islamist agenda…

What is baffling is the dead silence of ex governor Bola Tinubu. It was Tinubu who spearheaded the emergence of Buhari and wanted a Muslim to be his running mate before Femi Fani Kayode raised alarm that made him changed his mind and Prof. Yemi Osinbajo emerged as the vicee president. Buhari has never hidden his Islamic agenda for Nigeria. Lets keep watching.

Keep on saying the truth Mr. Akanbi, people are waiting to use their PVC and remove him from power,i pity for us, until we the masses, home and abroad can distraught or halt everything the government is doing in Nigeria ,that is total shut down and demand for accountability and change of direction, nothing will happen,no matter who will occupy that Aso rock come 2019.
People said they are working but no salary, my question is why are they still working? We are all afraid to die but the reality is many are walking dead, until the masses keep fear behind, nothing will change.
The only way forward is Nnamdi Kanu IPOB way, without such movement in Nigeria as a whole, then the worst is yet to come.
