August 30, 2017 – Nigerian Lady Beaten By Bribe-Seeking Police Over Her Tattoos Vows To Get Justice

A lady identified as Chioma Pius has vowed to fight for justice days after some bribe seeking policemen assaulted her for having tattoos.

Pius said some policemen who stopped her at Elebrada Junction in Emohua LGA of Rivers state brutalized her for being rude and for having tattoos.

Here is what she wrote on her official FB page;

“I experienced the worst day of my life on Monday. I was brutalised by some police officers in the Emohua area of Rivers State; at a highway leading to Bayelsa State.

“My crime was that I tattooed my body. A police officer asked me to step down from the taxi I was travelling in from Bayelsa to Port Harcourt. I asked to know why; he ignored my question and asked again that I should step out of the car, so I got out of the car.

“He asked to know who I was and what I did for a living because of the tattoo on my body. I gladly introduced myself with a big smile on my face. My phone rang, but I couldn’t answer (the call). The policeman told me to identify myself to his superior, which I found funny. I was just looking at the guy when he said I should be detained; that I didn’t have manners and that I was a cult member, prostitute and armed robber. There was no disgusting name those men didn’t call me.

“I just laughed the insults off and told them I would not enter their mobile cell. They seized my phone, so I couldn’t record them. They searched my purse and when they couldn’t find any money, they got angry and said I didn’t even have money, and I was showing off.

“Before I knew it, one of the officers grabbed my trousers and pushed me into the van, while the other guy slapped and punched me repeatedly. I asked why they were beating me up, but their leader used the butt of his gun to hit me on my thighs. He went away and came back with a cane and flogged me. He pushed me into their mobile cell.”.

Pius who claimed she lot her engagement ring in the scuffle vowed to get justice.

  1. Yes she deserves to get justice. Nobody has any right to rough handle anybody because she or he looks different or chooses to express herself in a harmless way which is different from the perceived norm. I hope the other passengers in the taxi are willing to testify on her behalf and that the policemen will be identified, fished out and punished. Mchweeeeeew!!!

  2. THE LAST line of the story got me laughing. She claimed to have lost her engagement WHAT in the scuffle? Did she say Ring?

Its only a lunatic like her that will engage this “Thing“ that called herself a lady. God forbid bad thing.

    I take a stroll…

  3. Well i can remember words of my father that says, Dress the way you want to be address in public. After all she was not the only one in that Taxi.

  4. POLICE STOOPED SO LOW TO ROUGH HANDLE THE WOMAN THAT WAY BUT I ALWAYS ADVISE WOMEN TO STAY AWAY FROM CONTROVERSIES ESPECIALLY TRAVELLING FROM ONE STATE OR LOCATION TO ANOTHER.I SUGGESTED TO SOMEONE OF PUTTING ON A CAMO WEAR THAT LOOK LIKE MILITARY,GUESS WHAT SHE WAS THE PERSON THAT BROUGHT MY ATTENTION OF THE LADY BEATEN BLACK AND BLUE BY THE SOLDIERS AFTER DRESSING HER UNCLAD IN THE PUBLIC.MOST AGGRESSION CAN EVEN LEAD TO STRAY BULLET HITTING AN INNOCENT PERSONTHEIR SUPERIORS IN THE MILITARY WONT SAY NOTHING.U WILL TAKE THE BEATING,TAKE THE DISGRACE AS PEOPLE WILL VIDEO U AND PUT IT ON SOCIAL MEDIA AND IT STAYS THERE INDEFINITELY.STAY AWAY FROM ISSUES .

    • Who knows what you look like. Those of you who comment bad about others need to learn not to judge people by their look. That is why we, Africans can’t grow.

  5. Wereminit, because police afraiding for her tatu and nose ring, they roffing her for egunje?
    Doesn’t good at all.

  6. As the saying goes “if you look like a junkie, junkies will be attracted to you”. With those demonic tattoos all over her body, the attention and curiosity of the police officers will be drawn to her. There’s nothing to write home about the police too, being mostly school drop-outs. There was no reason for them to treat her the way they did, if true, but police will be police anywhere any day. Do you see bank managers, Presidents, Doctors, Lawyers and responsible people with tattoos all over their bodies? Why make yourself easily identifiable and attractive for potential evil purposes?

  7. Lol…
Dress the way you want to be address….
Did they not see other passengers?
Anyway it’s still uncalled for, you have the right to live the way you want, go get justice
