Nigerian Pastor, Methodist Priest Who Faked His Own Abduction In Ekiti To Obtain Ransom Remanded In Prison After Wife Exposed Him

A top priest in Ado Ekiti has been dragged to the mud after his secret sins exposed him.

Today, an Ekiti Chief Magistrate’s Court remanded Methodist priest, Reverend Peter Adegoke Adewuyi in prison custody for faking his own kidnap to obtain ransom.

The court presided over by Mrs. Omolola Akosile also remanded Adewuyi’s accomplice in the crime Oluwadare Ajewole pending their next appearance in court.

30-year-old Adewuyi and  his accomplice 25-year-old Ajewole were arrested by the Police on June 11 and were slammed with the counts of aiding, arranging and abetting kidnapping.

Adewuyi had claimed that he was kidnapped between Ijebu Jesa and Aramoko while on a journey which turned out to be false.

The priest hid in a hotel in Ado Ekiti on the pretence that he had been ‘kidnapped’ claiming that his ‘captors’ were demanding N3million ransom from his church members and other members of the public.

At the court sitting on Monday, Police Prosecutor, Inspector Monica Ikebuilo, said the offences committed by the priest and his accomplice are contrary to, and punishable under Sections 5 and 7 of Ekiti State Kidnap and Terrorism (Prohibition) Law 2015.

The prosecutor explained that the act was committed within the Ado Ekiti Magisterial District on 11th June.

Magistrate Akosile ordered that the accused persons be remanded in prison custody pending the issuance of legal advice from the Director of Public Prosecutions.

Why won’t she? Have ever thought that those that will pay the ransom too will go out of their ways to do that? Why should a priest think in that direction?

I am not sure I saw anything here suggesting the wife exposed him and even if she did, she was just being a good woman not willing to share the husband’s sins like the case of Ananias and Saphira. Useless boy!

So she should be an accomplice to criminal activity because she’s married to the fake Pastor? With this mindset, it doesn’t take a genius to figure out why a million Buharis cannot fix Nigeria. The same corruption and dysfunctional lifestyles we pass on to our children. I attended the graduation party of my colleague’s second daughter as a medical doctor last month. He has three daughters that he’s raised by himself and the third is also in medical school. His daughter gave an emotional appreciation to their father who raised them to always say the truth, no matter what. A police officer stopped their father for speeding and he got into an argument but his daughter said that the officer was right and daddy actually ran past the speed limit, some years ago while they were younger. Officer was so impressed he tore the ticket and gave him a lesser offense. Look where the truth is taking his daughters? All three girls and medical doctors in one family. May we have wisdom to raise our children with the right values and integrity. Righteousness exalts a nation but waywardness brings it down.

Sometimes I feel that we are the Architect of our own problem in this Country. The first commenter was blaming the wife of that fake Pastor for alerting the authority. What do you expect her to do? to enmesh herself in a sin just because she married to a church robber called a priest.

Religious wise, that fake priest has committed one of the worst sin in the sight of the lord which is even carries more severe punishment than the world’s Court punishment. He expected the impoverished church members to contribute money for him in order to keep maintaining his flamboyant lifestyle. Do you realize most of the congregants couldn’t afford 3 perfect meal a day? The truth be said, most Nigerians are the ones that encourage corruption, they believe is part of norms and they embrace it.

My question is how did his wife expose him in this article? However, it’s getting clearer that tithe and offering are no more working as usual for all these gods of their members.
