A very intelligent boy identified as 3-year-old Emmanuel Samuel has died.

He reportedly fell into an empty well in Ita Oluwo area of Ikorodu while playing with his elder brother and friends around 3pm on Sunday.

When the officials of Lagos State Fire Service arrived at the scene of the incident, they had difficulties rescuing the boy due to the dept of the well.

A member of the Oodua People’s Congress later jumped into the well to rescue the boy around 7pm.

He brought out the boy dead.

The abandoned well was dug by the landlord of the building in 2007 and was abandoned when it didn’t produce water.

Police later arrested the landlord for burying the boy without the consent of his parents.
