Russian hackers have leaked secret confidential medical records of top US athletes who participated in the recently concluded Rio Olympics in Brazil.

The hackers suspected to be experts from the Russian secret service agency reportedly hacked into WADA (World Anti Doping Agency) database to leak the medical files of Serena Williams and teen gymnast Simone Biles.

The group of hackers named Fancy Bears accused Biles of taking ADHD (Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder) medicine, a prescription drug currently on Wada banned drugs list.

Simone Biles defended herself against the hacker allegations by saying she received permission to take the drug from WADA long before she went to the Olympics.

However Wada said the cyber attacks were an attempt to undermine the global anti doping system.
