December 12, 2016 –  Uyo Church Collapse: Akwa Ibom Governor Orders Arrest Of Reigners Contractors, Survivor Speak From Hospital

The contractors of the doomed church building that fell on worshippers in Uyo on Saturday are in big trouble.

The engineers who allegedly used substandard materials to construct the Reigners Bible Church building that killed scores of people are to report to the police this week.

Udom’s media aide, Aniekeme Finbarr who spoke to reporters yesterday said the State Governor ordered the arrest of the contractors on Sunday.

“They should be made to answer certain questions so that the state would be able to get to the root cause of the matter,”. – Finbarr said

A survivor Eno Etim said:

“I was inside the church. Everything was normal; there was no problem. A lady was called to lead the praise worship session; the governor came in shortly after that. As the praise worship was going on, the building fell and I didn’t know how I got here.

“The iron fell on my back forcing me to fall on the ground with my face down.

“I don’t worship in the church. I worship in the United Intercessors Network, which Bishop Akan Weeks also belong to. I don’t live in Uyo. I came all the way from Oron.”

Another victim 22-year-old Emen Akpanitiat said the building collapsed while the congregation was singing before offering collection.

“It happened when the governor came and people started dancing. I’m in pains. The doctor said I’m going to be moved to the University of Uyo Teaching Hospital.”

On how Governor Emmanuel Udom survived the incident, this is what one of his aides said:

I worked with the media team to the governor. The Commissioner for Information, Mr. Charles Udoh, and the Chief Press Secretary to the governor Mr. Ekerette Udoh, are in the hospital.

“Ekerette has a dislocation in his left leg; he also has internal pains. He is better now though he is still in the hospital. “The governor did not run; he simply saw the falling iron coming, it stopped half way, then he walked out.”

Mr. Governor you cannot order for the arrest of the contractors, an investigation should be carried out first then if investigation comes that the Church collapsed as a result of structural faults then contractors can be arrested.

don’t rush to arrest because you have power and you were there when it happened.

********SO WHO SHOULD THE GOVERNOR ARREST!!! THIS IS SIMPLY DUE TO POOR INFRASTRUCTURE FROM THE CONTRACTOR….. WHERE ARE YOU FROM? THE GOVERNOR SHOULD ARREST THEM AND KILL THEM… BECAUSE ALL THESE CONTRACTORS GO FOR SUBSTANDARD MATERIALS FOR CONSTRUCTION.

I don’t trust that Governor too. Most of our governors belong to the same caucus of Occultic group which those fake pastors belong. I have that feeling that the Governor knew about this tragic so also the pastor. This could have been a tragedy if they all died in that incidence.

Why is it that only poor people are the one dying? I don’t also support the idea that the Contractors are at fault. They only wanted to divert people’s mind that the Contactors are at fault by using substandard materials. We have not get over with TB Joshua saga here is another replicate. Some builders and developers have learnt a great lesson during the collapse of Synagogue Church, they cannot repeat the same mistake.

Stupid Governor. It’s simple common sense that a construction site is a no go area for members of the public. Only construction workers with hard helmets and protection gear have any business being there. Not only of the foreseeable danger of the possibility of collapse, African Churches, with our loud stamping feet on the “enemies’ head” (sorry, on the ground), loud running around, music and activities, what did they expect to happen? Who gave them Permits to allow people to gather in a building under construction? Were they testing God’s ability to protect them or what? Thou shall not test the Lord thy God. We have a long way to go in Africa. We need more education and application of common sense, rather than blaming the devil. Stupidity at its highest. May God console the bereaved families and heal the injured, amen.

It is well. The funny aspect of it some of the worshippers just came to see how contract could be awarded to them, some help from the governor to mention a few.

The bible says we should worship God in truth.
