How France Christmas Market Shooter, Cherif Chekatt Was Killed
The troubled man who carried out the fatal attack that took the lives of 3 people at a Christmas market in Strasbourg, NE France on Tuesday has died.
The 29-year-old terrorist identified as Cherif Chekatt had been on the run since Tuesday night’s shooting at the renowned Christmas market, where three people were killed, and 12 others were injured.
Interior Minister Christophe Castaner said three police officers spotted Chekatt as they were on patrol Thursday night not far from where the original search had been focused.
Chekatt then opened fire at the officers, who returned fire and subsequently killed him.
The national security across France’s borders was also put on high alert.
