The latest news about Yoruba Actor Babatunde Omidina aka Baba Suwe is that an Ikeja high court has ordered NDLEA to release him by Friday if he doesn’t excrete the suspected hard drug.
While giving her ruling, Justice Yetunde Idowu of Ikeja High Court said:
“The only thing hindering me from releasing the applicant today is because of the Federal High Court order of 20 October. I don’t want to meddle with that order. But if he (applicant) does not excrete the suspected substance he is accused of harbouring in his stomach by Friday, NDLEA should release him on bail”.
She set a bail of N500,000 on Baba Suwe with 2 sureties in similar sum, and additional ordered that his int’l passport be deposited with the High Court Chief Registrar.
Past Details on Baba Suwe’s Arrest
Just after Twenty days and nights in NDLEA custody, the officers presented the arrested Nollywood star Babatunde Omidina aka Baba Suwe at an Ikeja High court in Lagos today. The popular Yoruba comedian was excited with overwhelming support from his fans and fellow Nigerian Actors who came to witness the courtroom proceedings.
On Oct 12, 2011, Baba Suwe was caught and detained by NDLEA on suspicions of cocaine intake at the Murtala Muhammed Int’l Airport in Lagos while getting ready to board a flight enroute Paris.
Baba suwe later sued NDLEA for illegal detention and requested a total sum of N1 billion naira in damages.

I wonder if this scanning machine can detect ‘ADO’ one of the things been swollowed by some believers in juju (traditional medcine).There was an issue of that where i live whereby a scanning machine detected something hidden inside someone’s body, but they could not say what it was but the Man knows what he had swallowed.May God help us all!

The Judge is wrong, he should be discharged with no bail, he has suffer illegal detention than what the law actually permitted, he has suffer enough emotional pain, his name has been bastardize, his image has been destroyed and his career is at a lane of drug haters never want to watch his film anymore, and drug pushers thinking he has come to there rescue for softness, his already going to be rumours for this century to hold on as yes or no when his on stage or crossing a street, he will never have clean name when he buy a new car or new land,he will never be the same he has to sue the government of Nigeria and they have to negotiate and as well do the cleansing on his name, Please everyone don’t get me wrong if he use Juju that has supersede our laws, and law have to be respect else it can happen to you tomorrow and to everyone of us, we should believe in the law and not where judge is supporting NDLEA against the people of our great country. NDLEA boss need to be sack cuz of this baba suwe case, if baba suwe is an ordinary person he would have been jail for what he didn’t do. Only God knows how many peoples that will have been jail cuz of this kind of issue with the scanning maching and they wouldn’t carry out proper investigation due to the stupidity. I think federal govt. need to help them with another new and reliable scanning maching so that such a thing wouldn’t repeat it self.
