Nollywood Actress Funke Adesiyan Appointed As Aide To Aisha Buhari
Nollywood star ‘Funke Adesiyan’ has currently been appointed as the personal assistant to the First lady of Nigeria (Aisha Buhari), on Domestic and Social events.
The first lady just returned to the country last week, after a long stay abroad, and it seems she is fully ready to work in her office, as the ‘First Lady’ of Nigeria.
This was announced on the website of the Ministry of Information and Culture, after it was approved by the President of Nigeria (Muhammadu Buhari), on the 16th of October.
If you can recall, while still campaigning for office, the president (Muhammadu Buhari) promised to eliminate the office of the ‘First Lady’, as he said it was not recognized in the constitution of the country, but he didn’t.
He only changed the title of the office, to a new name; ‘Wife of The President’.
The Nigerian actress ‘Funke’ was given this new appointment alongside five other appointees, who were also made Special Assistants to the First Lady, on different fields.
Muhammed Albishir (Organization of African First Ladies for Development)
Barr. Aiyu Abdullahi (Media and Publicity)
Dr Mairo Almakura (African First Ladies Peace Mission)
Wole Aboderin (Organization of African First Ladies for Development).
The Nigerian actress has always been active in politics all through the years, and she even contested for the House of Assembly (Oyo State) under PDP, before she decamped to APC in 2018.
Funke improved her acting skills under popular Nigerian movie producer, director, and actor ‘Saidi Balogun’, and is now a well known actress in the country.
As for her new appointment, she is expected to resume duty immediately, as the appointment holds with immediate effect.
