Kebbi Governor’s Wife Threatens To Divorce Him
Oct 7, 2011 – The Yar’Adua family has been compared by some to the Kennedys, that famed political family that is perhaps a version of American royalty. This comparison goes as far as the eerie parallels of not-so-good fortune.
In 2008, Governor ??Usman Dakingari of Kebbi State, married Ms. Zainab Yar’Adua, the daughter of the late Nigerian president, Mr. Umar Yar’Adua. When Zainab got married, the rumour mill was flooded with stories that her mother, the former first lady, Mrs. Turai Yar’Adua, was attempting to consolidate her family’s power by marrying off her daughters to men in leadership positions. However, one of the matches seemingly made in political heaven appears to be coming undone.
According to a reliable source, the Dakingaris had a vicious row that ended with Zainab returning to the Yar’Adua family home before heading to England. The source, who requested anonymity says that Zainab is seeking for a divorce which her husband is refusing to grant.
However, Dakingari purportedly told Zainab that he would not seek her out if she left him.(Daily Times)
