Kunle Afolayan Sends Son To Mechanic Workshop To Learn How To Fix Cars
Popular Nollywood actor Kunle Afolayan has done what many parents in Nigeria today will never allow their children to do.
The actor cum producer left many speechless when he sent his son, Darimisire, to go learn how to fix cars in a mechanic workshop and the young man is happy with his new job.
Afolayan believes that his son can gain more at an early stage than just academics alone.
Not many parents will key into this idea but Kunle has the money to establish his son when he is old but that is not how to lay a good foundation for a child as teaching him how to fish is the best way to start.
In a video he shared on the social media recently, the actor wrote:
“Keep them busy so they can be useful to themselves and the society at large. Darimisire doing holiday internship as an automobile mechanic.”

This is a good start, because we all want our children to doctors, engineers, etc, forgetting that there are other options. Since the boy is gladly doing it and happy, you never know where it will take him to. Let us train our children in what they are happy and not what we want them to do. At least something to occupy his time is better than staying idle.

The type of education that we received is only to blow grammar which is not enough to sustain a man. When I was young, nobody wants to go through this/ We called if FEYINGBOLE GRAMMAR SCHOOL. Not until when I grew up and migrated to an advance World that I realized that I have been missing.
When British brought us education, they intentionally omitted the practical side of it. They never introduced us to scientific part of it for the fear that we, black might outsmart them in technology. They didn’t want that to happen.
My father eventually settled for law because there was no science teacher back then.?That is why most of our parents, grandparents who were educated under British system could only graduate with a Degree in Law, Teaching, History, Accounting, Economics etc. They taught us how to be fluent in speaking grammar because that will give them an opportunity to use us as their tools.?
The type of education we should have is the one that can sustain us even after graduating from tertiary institution. It doesn’t make sense for an Automobile Engineerring Students not to be able to repair his own car OR Building Engineer who cannot build his own house. The practical aspect of it is the real education part of it.
A Chinese man may know how to speak good English but he can make his own car and invents new machine which he can sell to others like us grammarians to build wealth for himself. Technology doesn’t have a language. Your invention can take you anywhere in life. German Chancellor does not necessarily have speak in English before selling its Volkswagen or BMW products. Knowing fully well how to speak in English is an act of enslavery. Nigeria youths must change their mindset thinking education is by graduating with first class honor without ability to create something out of it.
By the time this little boy gains an admission into the University, he must have had sufficient knowledge in making auto repair and some smart ones can make it as part time job thereby raising part of their tuitions to help their parents out. This will be a big relief to some parents who are really struggling to educate their children through a tertiary school or University. Kunle thanks for early detection.

@Jilo, you are 100% correct. That is why the British government under prime minister Harold Wilson said during the Biafra/Nigeria crises that he would not mind if Biafra loses 2 million or more people and both Britain and Russia gave Nigeria all sorts of ammunition to fight Biafra. They did this because Biafra have started manufacturing their own weapons using our local materials. Their aim then was if these people are left to stand on their own the Black race will rise from there to challenge them technologically. Unfortunately the Nigeria side either knowingly or unknowingly could not recognize this due to their common hatred for Biafra. When the war ended instead of bringing all the Biafra scientists and engineers together the government allowed them to rot away and those who tried to do something were not recognized. Everything has now dawn on everyone and we all are suffering the humiliation. Upon this our shameless leaders run to Britain for advice on how to govern the country, Nigeria.
