May 30, 2016 – MASSOB Stabbed 2 Police Officers To Death, A Corpse Recovered From River Niger – Delta Police

An official of Delta State Police command has confirmed that MASSOB group killed 2 policemen in Asaba today.

The fight reportedly broke out after police used tear gas to disperse a group marching to demand for Biafra’s independence.

“The police used teargas on the MASSOB people as they were protesting along Anwai Road this morning, so the people got angry and attacked the policemen with knives and broken bottles.
“They caught one policeman, beat him up before stabbing him to death; it was a fierce confrontation as everyone ran in different directions,” an eyewitness Okelue said.

Another eyewitness, Mr Ben Onwordi, disclosed that another fight broke out between the police and MASSOB members at the popular Mammy Market Junction on Nnebisi Road, Asaba.

“As the group were protesting, the police patrol vehicle came behind them and tried to disperse them but the MASSOB people resisted and in the process they clashed and many people were injured.
“The MASSOB people damaged the police patrol vehicle, vandalising the windscreen and doors before all of them fled into different directions,” Onwordi said.

A police source who pleaded anonymity said that MASSOB members had attacked some policemen at the River Niger bridge head, overpowering two of them, before throwing them into the river.

“We have been able to retrieve one of them from the river. He was brought out in an unconscious mood and rushed to the hospital, however, the second victim is still missing,” he said.

  1. Nawao!
I still demand that no one should be deprive protest as long as it is a peaceful one..
Dis country has alot of loads that it seems only GOD can bring everlasting solution to this..

  2. As much as I do not support violence, I must say that the Nigerian govt. led by PMB is violating a whole bulk of universal human rights laws in her dealings against IPOB protesters. Why would the police use teargas on a peaceful protest? No amount of intimidation can deter the Biafrans and Nigeria should wake up to this realization in time. The manner in which Buhari has handled this burning question so far is an index to his intellectual capacity, and to put it mildly, it isn’t a wonderful one.

We all would agree that hatred, grudge and animosity could make a man do a bad job of a well thought-out plan. This is Buhari’s problem. It is a good thing to desire Nigeria’s unity, but his hatred against the Biafrans has bedimmed his reasoning so much that he goes about it the very wrong way, in defiance to every universally established norm.

We are watching. If this country nosedives into another catastrophic event, the blame would glue fast on him and his blind supporters.

  3. WHEN I SAY WE ARE WATCHING ,WHEN I SPEAK THE TRUTH , THEY SAY AM A TRIBALIST .AT D END OF THIS INMATURE , UNDEMOCRATIC AND HYPOCRITICAL GOVT ,WE SHALL SEE WHO D REAL TRIBALISTS ARE . VISIONLESS PEOPLE WHO PUT BLAMES ON OTHERS BCOS OF LACK OF KNOWLEDGE . PERSON WEY SAY INNOCENT PERSON OWN NO GO BETTER , IM OWN GO OVER-SPOIL . IS D GOVT SO DAFT TO KNOW THAT ” THERE ARE PEACEFUL DEMONSTRATIONS ?”. REV MBAKA , HOPE U ARE ENJOYING ALL D GOOD THINGS NOW ?!.

  4. Untill buhari and all his supporters even here on NG realised that Biafra is nolonger part of Nigeria, this and worse than this should be expected.

I urge all the biafran States to come out emasse and protest for their denied rights all at once. Then the country would be too small to contain buhari and all his cohorts. Fulani man, mallam onye hausa.

    I take a stroll…

  5. They said MASSOB killed 2 policemen; how many MASSOB were killed? And how many IPOB were murdered? How many were arrested and how many were crippled by their bullets?

  6. from the report above, they were only staging a peaceful protest…The police don’t have the right to use tear gas on peaceful protesters
