After 4 failed attempts, ex-Borno State Alimodu Sheriff finally gained entry into the National Secretariat of the PDP party.
The ousted National Chairman declared himself as the National Chairman yesterday afternoon after IGP Arase ordered the Police Detachment stationed there to vacate.
The battle for the soul of the opposition PDP may not have been settled, following Sheriff’s insistence that he remains the National Chairman of the party till 2018. This is even as a faction of the party, led by PDP Governors, had installed the former Governor of Kaduna State, Senator Ahmed Makarfi as the Caretaker Committee Chairman of the party, pending when a proper National Convention would be conducted.
