Kidnappers Amputate Retired Mobil Staff After Collecting N5Million Ransom
June 6, 2017 – Photos: Kidnappers Amputate Retired Mobil Staff, Sure Foundation Polytechnic Owner After Collecting N5Million Ransom..Dr Idongesit Udom Hospitalised
A former staff of Mobil and two expatriates were kidnapped from a hotel in Eket on Sunday the 9th of April 2017.
Luckily the retiree, Dr Idongesit Udom regained freedom on the 10th of May 2017 after his family paid out N5million ransom.
The owner of Sure Foundation Polytechnic however lost his right after the kidnappers chopped it off because they could not get more money from him.
At a point, the kidnappers told him to sell his polytechnic to raise the N500million ransom they initially demanded for. They later reduced it to N70million after 2 weeks of negotiation.
After a while, they agreed to accept the N5million offered by Udom’s family.
However, they became angry because they expected more than that from the family of their captive.
They however amputated him a day before he was released in Aba.
The family of Dr Idongesit Udom are however happy he is still alive.
Here is what his brother wrote on his behalf on FB yesterday:
He is currently receiving treatment at an undisclosed hospital in Aba.

The issue of kidnappers in Nigeria and other countries if there is, l think is getting out of hand. Imagine chopping off the hand of an old man even after paying ransom
