The Nobel Laureate who is currently in New York for an event sponsored by New York University – Institute of African American Affairs delivered a mind blowing lecture titled “Negritude By Any Other Name” yesterday.

Those present at the event revealed that Soyinka was very proud of his Yoruba heritage.

At a point during the lecture, he was quoted to have said:

“I would have preferred to do my lectures in yoruba if only the audience can understand me”.
