Popular Nigerian fashion Designer Remi Lagos real name Remi Osholake (Oluremi Osholake) is dead. naijagists.com
Remi Lagos, a re-known fashion designer died today Saturday Nov 3, 2012 at an hospital in London after a short time battle with cancer of the ovary (uterine cancer).
We learnt the late Remi discovered the cancer late.
She started an aggressive treatment 14 days ago before losing her battle to the killer disease today.
Remi’s bossom friend, Funmi Iyanda, a Television presenter shared her death via twitter this morning.
Here is what Iyanda tweeted
“My dearest friend Ms Remi Osholake (Remi Lagos) passd on this morning. She had cancer. She was a remarkable, creative force to the end. Life is.
“My soul is weeping blood. Remi won’t want that but I hurt, I hurt.. She was so brilliant, so full of life, so friggn funny. Life is..”
50-year-old Remi Osholake a Lagos based fashion guru who is popular for wearing black-coloured clothing has her brand headquartered in Surulere, Lagos State Nigeria.

I am speechless. I spent quality time with REMI 3 weeks ago on my visit to 9ija. as we usually do for over 25 years. we both attended chelsea school of art in lime grove london. we opened our shops in surulere in 1985/86 a few weeks apart. we spent days finding how to make the world a better place thru our artistic medium fabric /fashion. until yesterday we were both the last two fashion worriors standing from our era in the 80s.

I am yet to recover from the rude shock! i visited Nija in Oct and Remi & I spent quality time. You know what ???? I didnt see Remi leaving that soon… as we chatted heartily.
2 days later upon my arrival to Uk, Remi phoned that she has been diagnosed of ovarian cancer hence she was flying in within 24hrs of the time – that was terrifying!.However, she would like me to buy her a phone and lebara credit worth £50. The irony of this all is Remi has never in 14yrs of knowing her asked me for anything. This was a strange request carrying strange wind that has resulted in strange happenstance!!!!!
Everythn happened like a whirlwind.I visited her with my husband who prayed for her and subsequently saw her on my own

Anty Remi is my Anty, we share same maternal grand father ,her mum is my mum sister, yes she actually called Anoda of my mum sis, few days before she died to let us know she was in London and had cancer, her death is a great shock as she called again and asked big Mumi to pray for her, the whole family is shocked and short of words as we know God loves her best.
