April 26, 2013 – Scottish Church In The UK Where Muslim Worshippers Are Allowed To Pray (Photos)

A Scottish church has become the first in the UK to share its premises with Muslim worshippers.

According to Daily Mail, St John’s Episcopal Church in Aberdeen now welcomes hundreds of Muslims praying five times a day in their building as the nearby mosque was so small that they were forced to worship outside.

The minister of St John’s, Rev Isaac Poobalan, has handed over part of the church hall to Chief Imam Ahmed Megharbi and the imam has led prayers in the main chapel.

Rev Poobalan said today that he would not be true to his faith if he did not offer to help.

Rev Poobalan, 50, said being surrounded by Islam while growing up in India helped break down the divide for worshippers of two religions praying together in Aberdeen.

Sheikh Ahmed Megharbi of the Syed Shah Mustafa Jame Masjid mosque said: ‘What happens here is special and there should be no problem repeating this across the country.

‘The relationship is friendly and respectful.’

St John’s is part of the Scottish Episcopal Church, which is part of the Anglican Communion and distinct from the presbyterian Church of Scotland.

The relationship between the mosque and St John’s has developed over the past few years.

On Christmas Eve 2010 both opened their doors for prayers, food and socialising.

In 2011, the church and mosque teamed up to mark the 10th anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attacks in the USA.

Verses were read from both the Bible and the Koran to commemorate those who died.

There have been cases of Christians allowing Muslims to pray in their churches in parts of America.

In 2011, two Florida churches were criticised for opening their doors to Muslim groups.

But Church leaders believe the move in Aberdeen is a first for the United Kingdom.

The level of religious tolerance is amazing.

I am not here to judge. But the word of God must be fulfilled. Why should light and darkness be friend??? Anyone that say Jesus is not the son of God, is a liar and is already condemned. I am not in support of such act. We can bring peace to ourselve by creating room for those that accept that Jesus is not the son of God by contributing to their such of developmnt. Let God only be praise. I rest my case

It’s sheer ignorance on the part of the Christians. ‘What communion has light with darkness?’ Jesus said ‘I am the way, the truth and the light, no one comes unto the Father EXCEPT BY ME’ So if the church cares about the lives of these people, they shd not allow them to continue in a way from the one Jesus described in His own words. Tolerance or no tolerance, by the truth and sell it not.

If the pastor of these churches can not preach Christ to these Moslems and their imams, but rather allowing them to turn their churches to mosques, a thing Moslems will never do or allow on their own part, then those churches are no more churches and it is just a matter of time before these Christians are over powerd and their churches plus members converted to Islam and mosques.

They will do it by force and by killings if there should be any resistance

Those churches and their pastors need to be saved. They have not known Jesusmin the real sense of it

They are religious men and not born again

No spirit of God in them

    Very carnal and flesh

They need to repent and let chuch be church and mosques be mosques

Light and darkness are not same at all and the two worship can ne’er flow

It is good we love one another but we must not compromise

Let your shine to the world please Christians.

Allowing muslims to pray in a church is not a big deal, that is just the way things should be. Prophet Mohammed (SAW) once invited the Christians of Najran to pray in his mosque. They slept in the Prophet’s mosque and offered prayers according to their faith without harrassment. The fact that this cannot happen in Nigeria is an indication of our shallow knowledge of Islam and should not be seen as a taboo in Islam.

I think why the Rev. allowed our brothers to the church to pray in their churches is that he learnt that such prayer was done in the bible: book of Nehemaih 8 vs 4-6.
Most Christian don’t know this just do urself a favour by reading the verses and verify it by any closest mosque to u or on the youtube. How muslim pray?
Let’s remember that the great teacher JESUS peace be upon him said:
Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the prophets; I have not come to abolish them but fulfil them. Matthew 5 vs 17. The is no God but the One that all prophets worship the One and Only God. U MOST NOT HAVE ANY OTHER GOD BUT ME. (Exodus 20 vs 3).

All terrorist activities, from the maghreb, to sudan, to.
somalia, to Iran, Iraq, Afghanistan to.
Pakistan are all associated with mainstream.
    Islam.The hatred being generated worldwide.
against mUslIms is a good sign. It means that.
collective effort will be generated to end their.
mindless bigoted jihadism. Islam is 100% terrorism and only a blind fool will argue it.
    The plans of boko haram.
to islamize Nigeria will not prosper.
    Amen!

Islam and Christianity are two different religions. In as much as I believe in tolerance which is a good aspect of the Christian doctrine. I am totally against the idea of both bodies sharing the same venue. The next thing the muslims will be planning to take over the church where they worship due to their lack of tolerance, tyranny, oppression, manipulation and violence. Give them a yard and they take a mile.

There’s nothing wrong with sharing the same premises with our muslim brother for prayin but they only need to realise that only new tastament is the way to our God.
