April 18, 2017 – 1623 Boko Haram Captives Rescued In Jarawa Kala Barge LGA Of Borno
Not less than 1623 captives of Boko Haram were rescued on Monday in Jarawa area of Kala Balge LGA of Borno state.
The Troops of 3 battalion, 22 Brigade acting on tips off went on the offensive on the suspected location of the dreaded Jihadi sect in Jarawa.
According to Army Spokesperson, the troops who came under heavy fire responded decisively to rescue the captives.
3 AK-47 Rifles with registration numbers 565222414, 563729686 and UF 3646, a 36 Hand Grenade, 12 Cutlasses and 4 Motorcycles were recovered from about 21 terrorists neutralised during the gun fight.
The rescued captives have been taken to an IDP camp in Rann.
All the children among them reportedly got Meningitis vaccination.
