One of the wealthiest men in Africa, the Chairman of Globacom Telecommunication company, Otunba Mike Adenuga has congratulated Nigerians at home and abroad over the Golden Eaglets’ ultimate victory at the just concluded FIFA U-17 World Cup in the United Arab Emirates.

“Congratulations for emerging as the champions of the world. You have made the nation proud. You have inspired hope in every young Nigerian. You have proved that this immensely blessed country has all it takes to rule the world. You are truly unlimited,” he said.

Mike Adenuga said the company would not relent in contributing to the development of the game which has been adjudged as the biggest unifier in Nigeria. Globacom has pumped over N10 billion to sponsor football in the country in the last 10 years,

“The fact that the players exhibited so much discipline, tact and strength, as well as uncommon unity in achieving the feat, made it more glorious and we wish to congratulate the President Goodluck Jonathan administration including the Sports Minister and the leadership of the Nigerian Football Federation for nurturing the team to global success and stardom.

“We also urge Nigerians all over the world to continue to display the spirit of oneness and unity of purpose that saw the Eaglets through in the UAE so as to drive our country to greater heights,” the statement added.
