3 Hungry Youths Died In Sokoto During Ramadan Food Stampede At Governor Aliyu’s Residence

3 hungry teenagers have met their untimely death after a stampede that happened at the state house in Sokoto.

We learnt the unemployed youths died at Governor Aliyu Wamakko residence in Gawon, Sokoto yesterday while people were struggling for free Ramadan food and clothing.

According to an eyewitness, several other people were also injured in the Sunday night stampede.

Reports say hungry and unemployed of youths had converged on the residence of the governor to receive the items during the end of Ramadan fast break when the stampede happened.

A doctor on duty at the Accident and Emergency unit of Specialist Hospital Sokoto who didn’t want his name mentioned disclosed that the corpses of the victims have been removed and taken to the mortuary while eight other victims were receiving treatment for injuries sustained during the stampede.

Area residents claim that several youths also died in a similar stampede that happened last year.

  2. is a pity, when the wicked are on power, money that was made to be used to develop the state and create job for the youths are been taking by so called political leaders, now you are giving them just food and clothes in other to make the people think you are doing well, develop your state and create jobs for them , so the people can take care of there basic need , shame on you mr governor

  3. This is very annoying. We’ve lost enough lives in this nation. That was an act of insensitivity on the part of the Governor cos any reasonable person would have envisaged an incident like that. He shd have handed the items to unit and sectional heads in the State. They will in turn give to other leaders under them. Have you experienced this kind of thing where christians are sharing thing? That’s why you need God’s wisdom in all things. When such a thing happened in TB Joshua’s Church in Ghana, he was banned cos it is not consistent with our life style. Secondly, it is a shame to this Nation. If pple are fully empowered they will not be scrambling for food in someone’s house. All Nigerian politicians that are embezzling our money, the money that shd have been used for the development of our economy, shall face the wrath of God in due course. Nigerian Senators are recieving salaries and allowances higher than that of Obama- NO 1 Citizen in the world. Yet, we are experiencing this kind of a thing in our Nation.. Na wah o.

  4. That is y we r so called underdeveloped country where poverty is killing.
This should also be a lesson to other poor people.
And u Mr. Wamako, try to provide ur youths with some services in wch dey will duely defend on their selves, I think its better dan any handout assistance that u are giving out.
This is also a lesson and eye records for u Sokotawa.
