A man identified as Chief Hosea Folorunsho has been arrested in Lokoja, Kogi State Nigeria for allegedly killing his own son for ritual purpose. naijagists.com
According to Kogi State Police command, Hosea Folorunsho who hailed from Egbe town in Yagba West LG government area of Lokoja allegedly murdered his own 4-month-old baby boy in December of last year.
In a news briefing in Lokoja, Kogi state Police Commissioner Mr Mohammed Katsina confirmed that the suspect, a reknown herbalist buried his son in a grave in his compound after murdering him.
The alleged ritual murder took place on December 31st, 2012 at his home in Egbe, Lokoja.
Police investigation revealed that on New Year’s eve around 11:55PM, the suspect murdered his son identified as Sunday Folorunsho who was deep in sleep at night in a very gruesome way.
After killing the four month old baby, he dug a grave in his compound and buried him in a hurry to avoid being caught.
After his arrest, he was immediately escorted by Police to the spot where he buried the baby. He was ordered to exhume the 4-month-old corpse.
He then handed the baby’s corpse to a pathologist who later conducted an autopsy on the boy.
The result of the autopsy revealed that the baby died of multiple fractures through application of sharp object and trauma.
The suspect, Hosea Folorunsho is a 48-year-old herbalist who is married with 3 children.
He is currently in police detention.
