April 11, 2016 – Mass Defection: Over 2000 PDP Members Decamp Into APC In Enugu State

At least 2,000 members of the Peoples Democratic party (PDP), the All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA), the Peoples Democratic Change (PDC) and other political parties, at the weekend defected to the ruling All Progress Congress (APC) in the Isi- Uzo Local Government Area of Enugu State.

Apart from the defectors, the party also officially admitted over 500 new members into its fold, including a retired Deputy Comptroller- General of the Customs, Mr. Tony Mbah. Receiving the defectors and new members at the Isi- Uzo council secretariat, the APC state chairman Dr. Ben Nwoye, commended them for their decision, stressing that the APC remains an ideal political platform for progressives.

While assuring the decampees and new members that everybody was equal, Nwoye, emphasised that APC, would continue to make internal democracy and discipline its watchword, especially under the watch of President Muhammadu Buhari.
