Oct 4, 2017 – Monkey Pox Virus Outbreak In Bayelsa State Nigeria: Medical Doctor & 10 Others Quarantined In Isolation Centre
A new highly infectious disease has broken out in Bayelsa state.
According to the Nigeria Centre for disease control, 11 people who contracted the diseased have been placed in isolation at NDUTH in Yenagoa.
The isolation centre created by the epidemiological team of Bayelsa state Ministry of Health has been expanded to host 49 other victims who had come in contacted with the infected persons.
Bayelsa Health Commissioner said said samples of the killer virus had been sent to WHO (World Health Organization) lab in Dakar for confirmation.
Symptoms of the killer virus that usually spreads from Monkey and rodents include back pain, fever, headache and worrisome rashes.
Please stay safe by avoiding contact with bush animals like monkey, rats, squirrels and antelopes.
