Health State Minister of Uganda, Mrs Sarah Opendi recently carried out a secret raid at China Uganda Friendship hospital on Naguru road in Kampala where nurses are in the habit of collecting bribe from patients before allowing them to see doctors.

On getting to the hospital disguised in Hijab, the health care workers solicited for bribe from her also.

In the process of negotiating the bribe, Opendi revealed her herself.

Collecting bribe before a patient who is battered by some ailment and is probably already stressed out contemplating the cost of drugs that would be prescribed; and yet someone who is supposed to “nurse” her if hospitalized asks for bribe. O Africans !!!

This is demonstrative enough. Can this ever happen in Nigeria. Our leaders are not patriotic enough and have no zeal to serve. Otherwise we will not be paying money for police bail, selling handouts and sorting in schools, paying for under measured fuel at gas stations, having ghost workers, having personal files padded for an 80yr old granny to 55yrs in the ministries. the list is endless.

Sometimes I start to think that the Black race is cursed. From inferiority complex with women bleaching their skin to look white and to asking for bribe from anybody. If these nurses can ask bribe from a sick person then imagine what their police will ask for not to talk of other government workers. Nigeria is a case in point. Only God will save Black Africa.

My knowledge of world history and current affair have led be to conclude that your perspective in the matter is incorrect. Look the so-called premier international reserved currency, the American dollar: what greater policy of corruption could there be? Have Europeans not stolen African wealth and given them printed pieces of paper for money?

Yes, many things among Africans are not right but the kings of corruption are located outside of Africa.

That is one of the best way to identify a good leader that is working, but it can never happen in this part of the world i live in. Cos their family is not treated here when they are sick.. ordinary cold and cathar they will be fly to London or Indian for treatment. if patient is dieing in the hospitals for lack of efficiency and proper investigation, is none of their business.
