Guests at a town hall wedding in western France were surprised on Saturday when the bride gave birth to a baby boy few minutes after tying the knot.

Although her estimated due date was July 14, the Saturday’s wedding ceremony was nearly cancelled due to many false labour signals from the heavily pregnant bride.

Few moments after the vows and their traditional wedding pose, the guests left the reception and the bride suddenly felt weak. She went back into the town hall where emergency services were called.

At around 12:15pm, she gave birth to a bouncing baby boy.

“The cry of the new born boy was an emotional moment! It was a first for us and for the emergency services,” City mayor said
