January 31, 2014 – “4000 Nigerians Flee To Cameroon, 1500 To Niger Republic On Friday” – UN

The United Nations said last Friday that 4,000 people had fled northeast Nigeria to Cameroon and 1,500 to Niger since mid-January, both as a result of the insurgency and the military response to it.

More than 12,400 Nigerians are currently in Cameroon; 8,000 have fled to Niger with 30,000 Niger nationals who had been living in Nigeria.

Attacks have continued, most of them in rural areas of Borno, which borders Cameroon and Chad to the northeast and east, and Niger to the north

The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) in the region said 4,000 people were “affected” by Sunday’s attack in Kawuri village, Borno state, without giving further detail.

NEMA spokesman Abdulkadir Ibrahim said that in addition “over 2,000 internally displaced people (IDPs) are camped in” a college and primary school in Konduga district.

“Security arrangements are being made to convey relief materials like food, beddings and basic needs to cushion the effects of the displacement of the IDPs,” he added in a statement.

The attack, at about 5:00 pm (1600 GMT), saw heavily armed gunmen disguised as traders storm the village, which is 37 kilometres (23 miles) from the state capital, Maiduguri.

Witnesses said the gunmen arrived in four-wheel-drive vehicles and opened fire with machine guns before setting off homemade bombs that destroyed houses and other property.

UN should be careful, accurate and truthful with their falsified political reports…they are not Nigerians. They are the same Boko Haram Families who infiltrated Nigeria through the north from Chad, Cameroon and Niger; so now that the heat is too much on them they want out instead of dying in a strange land they have tormented with their acidic and evil activities. Goodbye and never to RETURN to Nigeria AGAIN!!!

those 30,000 niger living in nigeria ,more than that, cos everybody can just cross over and stay in norther nigeria particurly Borno state, sokoto and mobi in adamawa state.and this Boko Harm leader is not nigeria,is from Niger.majority are Niger, chad, camerron, mali and libya.i remmeber during Maitasine,in 80the the Leader is also from Cameroon ,not nigeria,so they should send all none nigeria out of norther part, close every place, build wall with special booms, when any touch it from other side just blow them.then nigerians in the northern part can have peace in thier father land, cos most peacefull people are from Brono, welcome you to eat, drink even slepp if you have no place to stay,so those people call Boko Harm are not from thier, they are niger, chad and cameron e.t.c.but speak the language, cos hausa is speaking in almost all west africa country, after nigeria ,niger is second majority of hausa tribes. and kanuri they have 5 states in niger, nigeria kanuri are not killer ,cos they are well educated like life, not like their lose brother in niger, chad and cameron cant read and write only arabic, even cant speak hausa.we need Amry back, cos they will clear any troble makeer once and for all.

That serve them right. For political reasons the North open the border for Hausa and Fulani herdmen to migrate to Nigeria illegally. Now ;thank God it has backfire by the time the Jihadists they let into Nigeria will finish their nefarious evangelism the whole north will be in trouble. They are their moslem brothers from niger, chad, cameroon, etc.To me the worst is not Boko Haram; it the Fulani Herdmen killing the natives with the intention of creating a homeland in the middlebelt. Look what they doing to the Birom, Tiv, Kataf Southern Zaria obviously this is a calculated effort to annex the region
