May 14, 2016 – 5 Nigerian Soldiers Injured As Boko Haram Attacks Troops Camped Inside Sambisa Forest At Midnight
Wanted Boko Haram Leader & 2 Terrorists Arrested In Borno State, 35 Captives Freed
The military said today that some members of the dreaded Boko Haram sect attacked the troops camped inside Sambisa forest in the early hours of Saturday.
The attack carried out around 1:45am was repelled. The two terrorists who attacked the troops with superior firearms were shot dead.
2 AK-47 rifles, 2 rocket propelled grenade bombs, 5 rifle magazines, mortar bombs and belts of machine gun were recovered from the terrorists.
5 soldiers who sustained serious injuries in the attack have been rushed to a military hospital for treatment.
On Friday, the troops arrested a wanted Boko Haram leader around 1:35pm .
Suleiman Umaru was caught by the troops of 143 Battalion yesterday while he was escaping from Sambisa forest.
2 Boko Haram militants armed with dane gun were also arrested at Ngalimeri yesterday as 35 captives regained freedom.
