10 Types Of Friends You Need To Run From

friends you should run from

By Temilolu Okeowo

lI am a 200L student and I have a boyfriend who is now a graduate and now working. We’ve been dating in the past 2 years and my parents know him however, we have never had sex. These days I don’t understand him anymore. Anytime I visit him, he asks for sex which I’m not ready to give him because I’m still a virgin which he’s aware of! When I told my friends about this new development, they advised me to give it to him. Besides, I’m the only virgin among my friends! They feel he loves me because he calls me a good number of times in a day, buys me gifts, sends me money etc. I love him and I don’t want to lose him! Please advise me ma!

My darling, precious, glorious, dignified, world-famous and heavenly celebrated Nigerian sisters,

A lot of you usually don’t listen to godly counsel and learn from those who made mistakes until something unpleasant happens to you and “the love that’s mesmerizing you give you a brain-resetting slap on the face and jolt you back to your senses!” However, I understand Miss A.’s challenge- she’s innocent and naïve but unfortunately hanging around promiscuous friends who would lead her astray if care isn’t taken! No wonder Yorubas says“aguntan to ba b’aja rin, a j’egbe”meaning a sheep who walks with dogs will eat faeces. The bible also says “He that walketh with wise men shall be wise, but a companion of fools shall be destroyed.” Pro.13:20

Girls…girls…girls, I feel sorry for a lot of you because the financial inadequacy the average Nigerian girl experiences and lack of a morally-upright upbringing is driving your destinies downhill. A lot of you will do just about anything for a few thousand naira notes so I understand why Miss A.’s friends think she’s blessed to have a caring boyfriend and feel she should give herself to him! This is no curse- a lot of you girls would miss God’s glorious plans for you because you would rather follow the devil cheaply! And guess what? The stupid, bad, devil will use that opportunity to forever keep you in that inadequacy. Unfortunately, if you ask a lot of your aunties who have “seen life, chopped life, depended on men they slept with for money” and missed out of God’s plans on life-time companionship (marriage), they won’t tell you they’re still dependent and looking for men to sleep with for money! You had better receive sense in Jesus mighty name! I rebuke that spirit which wants to deprive you of being the salt of the earth and the light of the world exclusively designed by God to be celebrated till eternity because of one boy who’s buying you chinchin! Chill…girls, chi ll…take a chill pill! I need to teach you delaying gratificationsoon !

Miss A.

You are very special! Your friends want to rid you of the treasure they don’t have! You want goodies? You will eventually have a ship-load your generation can’t exhaust if you can do things God’s way! You’re personally a gold-mine and if you wait on God to pair you up with a man specifically-configured for your destiny, your wealth and enlargement will be mind-blowing! Funny enough, we all have such beautiful opportunity but for the folly of mankind! May the mighty power of God in this article grant you divine wisdom and understanding! I love you my sweetie!

  1. Friends who would attack and go against the word of God.
  2. Friends who are quick to run you down or remind you of your “seeming” incapability.
  3. Friends who would rather spend all their time on inanities rather than their studies.
  4. Gossips & backbiters.
  5. Friends who would mock you and label you mummy’s girl because you don’t have a boyfriend or don’t want to engage in premarital sex
  6. Friends who never stop talking about boyfriends, men, romance etc.
  7. Talkatives who wouldn’t let you concentrate on studying.
  8. Girls who wish they had all you have. Their desire would most likely turn to loathsome jealousy.
  9. Friends who have turned you to their ATM.
  10. Friends who downplay your love for God and your passion to do what’s right. You can’t know better than god. They surely can influence you and push you off your glorious divine path. 1 COR.15:33

What a load of bullcrap and backwards thinking. Gurl, do you, and stop ‘advising’ others. This thinking will leave people quite lonely in life and creates serious paranoia. NO-ONE is perfect, even YOU!

Just advise people or ladies to be careful, that’s all, being a virgin is never a guarantee to be a good wife or direct ticket to heaven.
