Feb 1st, 2013 – Boko Haram Training Camp Destroyed In Maiduguri, Borno State, 17 Members Killed By JTF
Nigeria’s special military task force, fighting Boko Haram terrorism has reported yet another success in its campaign, with the destruction of two camps operated by the sect and killing of 17 of the militants.
In a statement issued today by Lt.Col Sagir Musa, the spokesman of the JTF Operation Restore Order, said its troops conducted two special operations supported by Nigerian Airforce Helicopter Gunship to dislodge Boko Haram Terrorists’ Camps located in Sambisa Game Reserve in Bama Local Government and Farin – Ruwa Forest South West/East of Demboa Local Government Areas of Borno State on Wednesday 30 and Thursday 31 January, 2013.
“The camp was properly sighted and fortified and had training facilities; armoury, accommodation, drugs store/medical, kitchen, vehicle holding area, latrine and water points (River). The camp was used to conduct training and carry out recent attacks, killings and bombings in Maiduguri, Musari, Konduga, Biu, Bama, and Demboa communities”.
Musa said efforts by JTF troops to destroy the camps led to fierce exchange of fire that resulted in the death of seventeen Boko Haram terrorists and one Nigerian soldier.
Sagir also said the JTF recovered from the camps 6 Ak 47 Rifles, 2 G3 Rifles, 3 pistols, one rocket propelled grenade bomb, computers and walkie-talkies.otorola Working Talkies
