To further prove that he graduated from Ahmadu Bello University in Zaria, Oga Dino Melaye rocked his academic robe to the senate floor today.
Nigerians on the social media have come after the senate for allowing a “common thug” like Melaye to ridicule them.

How can an Academic robe that can easily be borrowed serve as proof that he indeed graduated from Ahmadu Bello University.
It is only a Saraki-led senate that can accept this act of indiscipline.

The house is full of half baked literates and all out illiterates. That is why they have not been able to achieve anything tangible but giving themselves huge salaries. They are the highest paid assembly in the world in a country where people are owed salaries, pensioners are owed their pension payments, inflation shot to the high heavens and they go about looting the treasury. Armed robbery, kidnapping, ritualits abound and they do nothing. What a shame.

The scandal has finally come to an happy and victorious end for Agbaakin-Senator Dino Melaye. The senator truly graduated from Ahmadu Bello University with a 3rd class honor in Geography. But wearing ABU convocation robe to the senate floor is his own way of mocking his critic or enemies. I believe if senator Melaye can play a bit of maturity in all matters, he will go far in reshaping and doing great thing for his constituents and Nigeria at large. But his childish nature always amazes me. He is misusing the energy, talents, and charisma given to him like a little child. Agbaakin, congratulations because this scandal would have ended your career as a senator of the federal Republic of Nigeria.

GOOD COMMENT@THEONLYOMOKEHINDE! Truth be told, this very senate seems to spens more energy fighting shadowy images than tackling concrete issues in recent times. From the issue of who appears before them in uniforms to who did not graduate from school, they waste Nigeria’s tax payer’s money on ego-induced debates that is never for the interest of the masses. Believe me when I say that this Dino saga only arose not because of integrity sake, but because he had hurt some people in that senate.

This guy did not graduate as alleged, I can smell the foul play from his behaviour. We are in a problematic system when a tout is in our decision making circle.

Omokehinde, Dino Melaye has not gotten off hook yet because it has not been proven that he graduated from ABU. The Senate has just summon the VC and some department heads to come and testify before the senate. There was a big issue as to when he graduated and when he served NYSC. According to Sahara Reporter, Dino indicated he graduated in 2001 and he served in 1999.
I don’t understand why you will give him a clean bill. The matter is still before the senate. Infact, his immature behaviour shows he his hiding something. Does he necessarily have to wear academic gown to prove to the world that graduated as he has claimed? he needs to show his certificate and let the authority compare it with the one on record period.

Jilo, well said. I fully agreed with you that Agbaakin-Senator Dino Melaye should simplify show his certificate to end this controversy once and for all. But the VC of Ahmadu Bello University had already proved before the senate that he truly graduated from ABU under oath. Thanks for your wise comments in a matters.

Omokehinde, VC was summoned by the senate because they suspect he might have helped Dino to change his grade which later backfired because other faculty members refused to work with VC in order to change the record. This is a serious matter Omokehinde.
The reason why the VC must to testify is because of the inconsistency as to when Dino served NYSC and the time he graduated. The VC said, he graduated in 2001 and Dino proved he did his youth service in 1999. Why did he serve before he graduated? In any University in Nigeria, the school has to clear you up for service. I don’t know if they are doing it other way round now. In addition, Dino’s name was not among the graduants. Even after they merged them to perform mass graduation, his name was never found among those who graduated between 1999, 2000 and 2001 courtesy Sahara Reporter.
It is very simple. Let him present his certificate. This is Nigeria, if he had studied Abroad, he would have use different tactics to defend himself but all his record is right here in Nigeria. Let him show it to the whole world. Those people that think they are smart are the ones mostly caught up by little mistake.
