Ohanaeze Ndigbo Rejects Nnamdi Kanu, Says No Sane Igbo Person Will Pray For Another Biafran War
Nov 21, 2015 – Ohanaeze Ndigbo: No Sane Igbo Person Will Pray For Another Biafran War, We’re Against Nnamdi Kanu
Yesterday, Ohanaeze Ndigbo, an apex Igbo socio-cultural organization disowned Radio Biafra Boss, Nnamdi Kanu and his support for Biafra agitation.
While addressing reporters in Awka, Ohanaeze Chairman, Dr. Chris Eluomunoh, said no right thinking person would support what he called the madness of the group .
In his words:
“You will notice that Ohanaeze has been very silent on the issue of Biafra insurgency, though the youth wing of Ohanaeze has been speaking on it. Ohanaeze, as the Igbo cultural group, cannot support Biafra and we dissociate ourselves from it totally.
“Igbo people have contributed much to the development of Nigeria and we cannot allow some people to jeopardise the lives and efforts of millions of Igbo residing in all parts of Nigeria.
“We believe that anybody who has any issue to settle with the Federal Government should use dialogue and that is why we participated in the last National Conference. No sane Igbo person would want to witness a repeat of the kind of thing that happened during the Civil War.
“(Chief Odumegwu) Ojukwu, who led the Biafra war, returned to Nigeria from exile and contested elections in Nigeria, which showed that he was fully integrated into Nigeria and was a full-fledged Nigerian before he died.”

I will passionately encourage all other well meaning Igbo people, to come out and do the same like this organisation (Ohanaeze Ndigbo); by denouncing this nefarious clamour of war and secession by Nnamdi Kanu.
Martin Luther King Jr..once said and I quote; “Our lives begin to end the day we become silent about things that matter”.-he also went further to say “There comes a time when one must take a position that is neither safe, nor politic, nor popular, but he must take it because conscience tells him it is right”.
Lastly “History will have to record that the greatest tragedy of this period of social transition was not the strident clamour of the bad people, but the appalling silence of the good people”-Martin Luther King Jr.
Nigeria has a Nation has in the past, and up till now encouraged and fully integrated the people from the South eastern part of Nigeria, examples of this integration abound in all facet of the Nigerian society.
Let us start with Major General Johnson Thomas Umunnakwe Aguiyi-Ironsi ;who was a senior Nigerian military officer. He seized power in 1966, and herald the first military coup in Nigeria.
Dr. Alex Ifeanyichukwu Ekwueme, became the first elected Vice-President of Nigeria, in was in office from 1979 to 1983.
Okonjo-Iweala, was finance minister under Goodluck Jonathan, from 2011 to 5 Jun 2015.
Diezani K. Alison-Madueke, was Nigeria’s minister of transportation on 26 July 2007. She was moved to Mines and Steel Development in 2008, and in April 2010 was appointed Minister of Petroleum Resources.
Ike Ekweremadu, has served in the Senate of Nigeria since May 2003, and is currently Deputy President of the Nigerian Senate for the third consecutive time.
Not mentioning the last president; Goodluck Ebele Azikiwe Jonathan…who some people might argue is from the South south.
Now the point am trying to make here is that Nigeria as a nation has fully integrated the hard working Igbo people into the Nigerian society-It must however be mentioned here that the problems facing the average aggrieved Igbo-youth today, is not peculiar to them alone, rather the “common-enemy” amongst Nigerians, is simply bad governance since the time of independence, 1960.
Nigerians, must henceforth hold our leaders accountable for improper governance, which will give room for transparency, accountability of public officers, employment, good road and constant supply of electric power.

I think the so call Nnamdi Kanu can listen to this, and if he refuse to listen. Let the Federal Government jail him for Life… Because it is very easy to cause a problem , but it is very difficult to solve it… if the problem start he will be the first to run because he has all it takes to run to another country and leave the innocent poor igbos to suffer it because they have nowhere to run to this is their mother land let them live in their mother land in peace and harmony stupid Kanu …

This is hypocrisy of the highest order. Is this how we re goin to rule ourselves as Biafrans. Shifting goal posts, changing tongues, betrayals, here n there! Its so unfortunate if ohaneze actually made this statement. Its a pity

I am very happy to hear that reaction coming from the much awaited Igbo soco-cultural authority. Its an evidence of our maturity for understanding, peace and development. Kudos to these real igbo leaders.
It is reasonable to acknowledge the fact that every ethnic national in Nigeria is being hit by the heat of this socio-economic problems faced in the country today, therefore, needless to take it personal;rather lets work together with same motive for true peace and development.
A journey of a thousand miles will begin with a step, what is most importance is to have and support an upright leader who is ready, and will always be ready to fight and get back most of our dues deprived us by some past leaders who claim to like us by pretending to speak our languages.

mmmm! where is Asari Dokubor and Tompolo? making mouth that Buhari will never rule this country.. Nmamdi Kanu is the real man fighting for the freedom of his people. Ohanaeze has no concrete reason for rejecting Namdi Kanu because of fear of war. that is cowardly act. if they have said there is no reason for bihafra because the people of igbo are ok with one nigeria it will be better. which mean you can not fight for the freedom of you children.. well, i believe Ohanaeze has been bribed and the ibgbo people love money more than themselves and there is no unity among them that is why they wuill never achieve beharfra.
