A very kind Nigerian governor has gifted a pregnant labour N200,000 to start a business of her choice.

Ebonyi state Governor David Umahi was in Abakaliki today to inspect a mushroom farm project when he saw the lady identified as Gloria Nwankwo as she worked with other labourers mixing cement for a construction project.

Umahi reportedly walked up to Gloria who is 8 month pregnant and ordered her to go home, stating that the job is not good for her condition.

He also gave her a donation of N200,000 cash to start any business of her choice so as to take proper care of herself.

  1. THANK GOD,U SPOTTED HER AS A LABOURER.WHAT HAPPENS TO HER DELIVERY EXPENSES AND RAISING THE CHILD.GIVE THEM HOOK AND NOT HE FISH.CREATE VIABLE SOURCE OF LIVELIHOOD.CREATE JOBS,JOBS,JOBS

  2. Well, at least better than nothing. One thing about Ebonyi is there are more female labourers than male. The poverty in that land is nothing to write home about. Of all the eastern states, Ebonyi is the poorest. Lets just say this one pregnant labourer was lucky because there are so many of them. Ebonyi governor, thank u for this one so we wont be unnecessarily critical of ur gesture but remember the promises you made to your people sha. Just saying…
