A popular striker who was transferred to Illichivets Mariupol Football Club in Ukraine on loan has died.
The striker at Ukrainian league side Mariupol passed away in the wee hours of today Saturday the 8th of February 2014 in a fatal car accident in Ukraine.
His club made this known on their website today.
According to the statement, 25-year-old Maicon was a brilliant person with great people skill.
“He was a talented footballer, open and friendly guy. It is a terrible bereavement for each of us.“- the statement said
