Dec 29, 2014 – Yvonne Nelson: They Say I’m A Lesbian Bcos I’m Not Married

In a recent chat with Ekerete Udoh in New York, Gollywood actress Yvonne Nelson denied being a Lesbian.

Ms Nelson said she only plays Lesbian role in movies and as a professional, she must follow the script given to her.

In her own words:

“Lesbianism is against my religious beliefs, it’s against my cultural norms and I think it was very mischievous for people to insinuate such about someone they hardly knew. The rumor was started by a notorious website in Ghana last year when they reported that they had never seen me with a man. In their warped and twisted calculation, I was thus a lesbian. Can you imagine such crass reasoning?

That they had not seen me with a man, and may have seen me with my girlfriends going out to have fun, and then automatically I was a lesbian. It was a hatchet job – an attempt to discredit me, but they all failed. I am heterosexual and would remain one till the end. When you are in the public light as I have been blessed and privileged to being, your life becomes a public property and some mischievous people will say all manner of things about you. It comes with the territory, so I forgive them”

    • My dear if u r movin 4ward dey will say all manner of evil even if u go down dey will still talk bt my advice dot listen 2 them.

  1. If I’m an actor, there r certain roles I’l neva assume in a movie nomata d pay. Things abt gays r so disgusting 2 me dat I wretch @d thot of dat pergan perversion. I shd expect any oda heterosexual individual 2 feel d same way.

Taking up a lesbian/gay role predisposes d individual to such evil lifestyles. Wat u act in a movie could gradually leak in2ur normal life, no doubt. Dat’s Y Christian drama groups pray ernestly afta a drama presentation, dat wateva bad role in d drama may not project in2 evrday life.

  2. My dear, just fucos on wat ur doing, if u eventualy get married, dey will stil cal u names. U miscarry a child, dey cal u a witch, u buy a house , dey wil call u a prostitut, u buy a car, dey wil say u want to show off or dont know wat to do wit ur money , u visit a moderless hom, dey wil ask y dd u not do it in ur village. Wat ever u do my dear, pple must talk, so get fucos an put talks behind.

  3. Well said you guys…if she settles, they will say something, she is single now, they say she is a lesbian, just because she is single doesnt mean that she is gay. Sometimes, these beautiful african queen can do better by themselves. Culture under my foot. These are the comments that drive women especially the ones in africa to use diabolic means to snatch peoples husbands all because of what they will say. Be happy and ignore them better yet, get out of their circles…peace

  4. You too go and get married to proof them wrong, and when u at it make sure you don’t marry Jacki Appiah husband or fiance

  5. Getting married or not is not the end of the world. Just be happy and enjoy yourself. We all deserve to be happy even if it is by ourselves.
